Mt Sunapee Ski Trip

The Post took a trip to Mt Sunapee New
Hampshire for a day of skiing. The trip was funded by our
annual Ski Swap. We had a great day of skiing. A
good time was had by all.

CPR Training
January 3, 2010 |

Post members were certified in CPR
for the professional rescuer. Members learned valuable
life saving skills. This included helping choking victims,
rescue breathing, CPR, use of an AED and oxygen administration. This was a great class.

Shoveling

The Post shoveled fire hydrants as a
community service project. Everyone should take the time
to make sure that the fire hydrants on their street are free
from any obstructions, including snow, bushes and debris.
The time saved in the event of an emergency could make the
difference between saving your life or home! |

The Post held it's Annual Ski Swap.
This year was the 42nd annual. Thank you to everyone who
participated in the event.

Holiday Lighting

Harvey & Sons. The Post provided water and general
assistance to the Westborough Fire Department.

Arts In Common

The Post assisted the Westborough Cultural
Council with their first annual Arts In Common. The Post
assisted with the setup and take down of the event. The
event featured music, dancing, arts and crafts. |

Scouting Day

The Post demonstrated its program along side
other town Scouting programs. The event was well attended.

SCUBA Trip

The Post went diving at Old Garden Beach in
Rockport, MA. Conditions were excellent,
and we were able to see a diverse amount of sea life.
Everyone got more comfortable with the gear and skills.
For many, this was their first day of diving since their
checkouts. A good time was had by all.

Can Drive

The Post held its annual can
drive. The Post sorted more than 20,000 cans and bottles.
We collect cans throughout the year. They can be dropped
off at any time during the year by placing them in front of our
box container. Thanks to all the members who put in two
very busy days.

Block Party

The Post assisted the Town of Westborough
with
its annual July 4th Block Party. The Post assisted by
providing support for setting up the event and putting away
tables and chairs after the event. The Post ran a booth
selling lightsticks. Thanks to all who purchased

Gibbons Middle School

The Post
presented to the Gibbons Middle School. Students were
allowed to tour vehicles, view our equipment and ask questions
of our members. |

Henry Danis Retirement Party

The Post attended the retirement party for
Henry Danis. Mr. Danis served as the Town Manager for
Westborough for 15 years. The Post presented Mr.
Danis a certificate recognizing his service to the town and to
the Post. |

Memorial Day Parade May 25, 2009 |

The Post marched in the Westborough Memorial
Day Parade with the Westborough Fire Department. The Post
provided free ice-water to parade participants and thirsty
spectators. After the Parade, the Post assisted the Fire
Department with its annual open house.

Rotary Club Spring Festival May 3,

The Post assisted the Westborough Rotary
Club with their 2009 Spring Festival. Among other things,
the Post was assigned to provide assistance with the hot air
balloon ride. Post members assisted with the setup and
cleanup of the balloon and monitored safety lines attached to
the balloon throughout the event.

Civic Club Fishing Derby May 2, 2009 |

The Post assisted the Westborough Civic Club
with their annual Spring Festival Fishing Challenge at Minuteman
Park on the shores of Sandra Pond. The Post assisted with
the setup and cleanup for the event, as well as providing water
safety monitoring for those participating in the derby.

Spring Cleanup April 25, 2009 |

Each spring, the Post does a stem to stern
cleanup at its facility. This year's cleanup was no
different. Anything that didn't move was cleaned.

Brush Fire Training April 18, 2009 |

The Post
assisted a local property owner with the
removal of brush. The Post used the opportunity to train
its members on brush fire techniques and the use of the Post's
brush fire equipment. This included the proper operation
of our backpack pump. |

Ice Rescue Training

The Post participated in ice water rescue
drills with the Westborough Fire Department at Lake Chauncy.
Post members got a first hand view of techniques and tactics
used for rescuing those who have fallen through the ice.
Post members manned shore lines used in the active rescue, as
well as safety lines attached to 'victims'. The Post also
set up and manned two heated warming shelters.
We thank the Westborough Fire Department
for allowing us to participate in the event.

Mt Sunapee Ski Trip

The Post went
skiing at Mount Sunapee Resort. Members had a great time
skiing. The members were able to use a portion of the
proceeds from the 2008 Ski Swap to fund the trip. Everyone
all had a great time. |
